Una de las cosas que he comprendido leyendo la encíclica, ha sido el mal que el marxismo ha hecho a la Historia. El pensamiento de Marx y sus seguidores ha esparcido durante siglo y medio una serie de antivalores que han envenenado las relaciones dentro de las naciones. Frente a los ideales de caridad, amor, colaboración, para millones de seres humanos se impusieron los ideales de lucha, confrontación y odio de clase.
El marxismo allá donde consiguió el poder, el progreso quedó detenido. El marxismo allá donde no consiguió el poder, hizo su siembra de guerrillas. Esa ideología roja ha dañado a la Historia. A niveles globales, su daño ha sido colosal, una de las mayores lacras de la raza humana. Ha supuesto la eclosión de una constelación de archipiélagos gulags a nivel planetario durante generaciones.
Ellos presentan los logros sociales como logros suyos. Pero resulta evidente que los países que de ningún modo fueron contagiados por sus ideas, han progresado en materia de derechos sociales de igual manera que los otros, sin necesidad de añadir esa carga de materialismo y confrontación.
Hoy día los vividores de la política que se autodenominan descendientes del marxismo, se permiten dar lecciones de moral a la Iglesia. Ellos que no han hecho lo más mínimo por los pobres (salvo vivir de la política), ellos que se consideran sucesores de aquellos líderes (bastantes de ellos criminales), ellos, sí, dan lecciones a los obispos, a la Santa Iglesia de Dios.
